Global Medical Brigades is a secular, international network of university clubs and volunteer organizations that travel to developing countries to perform health care in communities without access to medicine otherwise. Our current emphasis is in Central America, where we support sustainable health care to more than 70 villages and have provided aid to more than 30,000 patients in 2006.
Our mission isto lead a holistic model for sustainable health care in underserved villages thatconducts preliminary needs assessment, treats patients to the highest ethical standards, sponsors referrals to those with needs beyond our capability, records data for the production of quantitative reports, and works to improve the water, sanitation, and economic infrastructures.
